◉革素材について
 
1. 素材
表面に、細かい皺模様を表現した「角シボ」と言われる型を押し、さらに防水・防汚加工を施した顔料染めの牛本革です。
 
2. 顔料染め
素材そのものに塗料を浸透させていく染料染めに対して、素材の表面に色を塗布していく顔料染めは、発色が良く、湿気やキズ、汚れに強いという特性があります。また染料染めに比べ経年変化が進みにくいので、お手入れに手間をかけることなく安定的に日常使いできる、ノートの表紙としてとても使い勝手の良い素材と言えます。

3. 型押し
金型を革の表面にプレスして、凹凸の模様を定着させる加工方法です。原材料に残る血筋やキズ・ムラなどを目立ちにくくしたり、使用時の擦りキズや汚れを防ぐ効果も生まれます。
 
 
◉ Leather Material Details
 
1. Material
The covers are made from pigment-dyed genuine cowhide leather, embossed with a “kaku-shibo” (square grain) pattern that creates a fine textured surface. They are also treated with a water- and stain-resistant finish for added durability.
 
2. Pigment Dyeing
Unlike dyeing methods that soak color into the material, pigment dyeing involves applying color directly to the surface. This results in vibrant hues and excellent resistance to moisture, scratches, and stains. Compared to traditional dyeing, pigment-dyed leather is less prone to aging and discoloration, making it low-maintenance and ideal for everyday use—especially as notebook covers.
 
3. Embossing
Embossing is a technique in which metal plates are pressed onto the leather’s surface to create a fixed pattern of raised and recessed areas. It helps to conceal natural imperfections like scars or uneven tones in the hide, while also providing added protection against scratches and wear from daily handling.
 
 
◉カラーアルマイトディスクについて
通常の切削加工で製作したアルミディスクに、アルマイト処理、着色、さらにブラスト（ツヤ消）処理をしています。アルマイトは、アルミの表面の腐食防止やキズをつきにくくする硬化、着色を目的として行われる化学的な表面処理方法です。この処理を行うことで素材の耐久性と装飾性が向上、高品質でより魅力的な部材に生まれ変わります。
 
 
◉ About the Colored Anodized Discs
These aluminum discs are first shaped through precision cutting, then treated with anodizing, coloring, and finally a sandblasted (matte) finish. Anodizing is a chemical surface treatment that prevents corrosion, hardens the surface, and enhances the color. This process improves both the durability and appearance of the material, transforming the discs into high-quality and visually appealing notebook components.
